After racing the Airtronics Championship
and getting second place racing for the
Global
Mammoth Forum
( yes, the forum came together and gave me money and parts and
engine's to race, it was amazing and wonderful to be a part
of. Thanks guys)
my Mammoth was in very tired shape. It held together for that
race, but I was not going to race it again at a big race. My
Partner and RacerNine.com manager Ryan
had other ideas. Thus the Outlaw Mammoth was born, or the project
was born. Ryan sent me his short chassis Mammoth. The name came
from the rules for the Proline race. They put the Box Stock
Mammoth in the "Outlaw" class, two speed and all.
I got ticked about that and decided if they were going to classify
me as an outlaw, I would make:
The rest is now HISTORY, in the
making...

I started with this truck, a worthy racer, but very tired, broken
in places and sloppy everything from racing and crashing.

We will blend my Mammoth with this short chassis Mammoth that
Ryan got from someone that made a bunch of these chassis out of
thicker 7075 aluminum. I wish I could race the car body, but the
rules will not allow it. Has to be a truck.

This is the short Chassis. Looks to be very well made, the rear
shorter drive shaft and top deck come with the kit, at this point
I am tearing it down, I will replace that two speed with a Dadders.net
center diff. I like the front to back connection this chassis
has, very stiff, no flex.

The work starts, both Mammoths tear down begins.

This is an interesting side note, on the short chassis Mammoth,
it had a bent front drive shaft, it was rubbing the bottom of
the steering servo screw. Time and repetition were cutting it
in half.

This is the stock front drive shaft dog bone and the short chassis
drive shaft side by side.

The center of the Outlaw Mammoth will be the Dadders.net
center diff. Having raced a center diff Mammoth I am simply
not willing to race without it. Biased braking, traction, end
diffs issue fixed forever, can land ON power no problem, turn
on a dime etc.... If you race, you must have this, it is amazing..

Much work to do. I will update this site as the work progresses.
