I was honored to have one of the very first
Mammoth ST's to make the promotional
video
(13 megs) for XTM to use at the RCX show. It was an awesome
truck box stock and I raced it after I was done making the video.
Racing it box stock made some of the weak points show up. I
was racing my Outlaw Original Mammoth at the time and sold the
ST. I have now turned the Outlaw over to RacerNine team manager
Ryan for more upgrades and some weight loss. I have picked up
the ST again and am racing it at large events. The following
is what is needed to make it solid and reliable. I like the
ST becuase of it's performance, and it's price, keeping with
the RacerNine.com focus on keeping your RC racing and bashing
affordable. You can get this RTR for less than just about any
truggy out there, and then start your upgrade path a little
at a time. Lets get started.

Now this looks crazy, what is going on. I like to have a charging
jack, outside the battery box, and a "Transponder Jack"
outside the reciever box, and the on/off micro switch ( reliable
).

So this is what it looks like all cleaned up and put away. I
can swap the transponder from buggy to truck between races.

This is the battery charging jack, easy to charge between races
with no fuss. No need to open anything.

I mount the transponder with velcro on the front of the truck,
to make the wire coil, you just wrap it around a small screwdriver
shaft very tight, take it off and it is spring loaded.

hinge pin retainers are mandatory in my mind for reliability.
Close up of the front hinge pin retainer.
