I made promotional video's for XTM
to use at RCX
2005. Part of the deal was I got to keep every vehicle I
made a video of. I was instantly amazed at the quality and performance
of the
X-Cellerator
Nitro
The X-Cellerator did have one drawback, in that there were no
pro's running it posting setup sheets on the website. So I am
now going to take the X-Cellerator and make it a racer the best
I can and post what I did to do so.
If you own an X-Cellerator, the first thing
you need is this forum, it is an awesome resource with great
people that have helped me many times. XTM provides a forum
like this for every car and truck they make, all other manufacturers
should take note and do the same.

Video:
First Race with X-C nitro, at Palomar Raceway. It was box stock
but for the SH .12 and Proline Bowtie Rear Tires. Movie is 70
megs, 10 min of racing with some slow motion to detect and tune
suspension settings. Click
Here for Vid
This next vid is the truck setup and done. It is now better
than I am. It is a video of the Thunder Alley race track. It
is dry as a bone, and I am just learing the track, but you can
see the X-C is setup and handing very well. I got 4th in the
A main, and the Pro's Aaron Waldron had 26 laps in 20 min, Adam
Drake had 25 laps in 20 min, I had 24 laps in 20 min. The truck
is done. It is better than I am. The Setup
Page reflects the current condition of my truck as it is
now being raced.

Here she is, box stock and ready to rock. I made some cuts to
the body to allow more cooling and refuel pit stops.

I opened up the back to allow tuning with the body on, and allow
the engine to cool better.

I drilled the fuel lid tab to allow a ziptie to attach, and opened
up the side of the body for refuel abilities during races. Make
the opening big enough so your pit man does not have to waist
time messing with a tiny opening.

On the other side of the truck I drilled a hole for the ziptie
to exit, making for easy grab and refueling.

Ziptie pulled, fuel tank open, refuel can begin.

These are front aluminum arms made by a X-Cellerator forum Member
named
Newbie88.
He sent these to me for testing. I will mount them soon. They
are very light and very strong. After I race and get used to the
truck with stock arms, i will put these on and see how they do.

I replaced the stock hubs front and back with XTM aluminum hubs.
The Nitro 1/10 trucks take much more beating and force than my
electrics do. On the shocks, I am changing the shock oil to 30wt
front and 35 or 40wt rear. I have found out also that the springs
are interchangable with Associated T4/B4 rear springs. The X-Cellerator
uses the same shocks, front and back, so the T4/B4 rear springs
work front and back for it. I have not yet purchased or tested
the springs, but plan to do so and will report on the performance
when I find the spring tension that I think works well. I am running
1 degree of negative camber in the front and 0 camber in the rear
wheels.
