These XTM rims glue up better than any rims I have ever glued.
They are softer so maybe that helps them. The offset on the inside
of the rim is the same as a Losi truck rim I am told. I have not
verified that yet, but it was in a magazine writeup on the X-C
electric. Also SHOCKS, they say that you can use Associated T4
rear springs. I will go for green in the back and silver in the
front, same as I had my T4 setup.

This is VERY cool. I did much bashing in the loose dirt and sand
for the XTM promo vid of the Electric X-C and NO dirt got in to
the spur and pinion gear. The seal on the gear cover is better
than my T4 was by far, very very tight and good seal keeping out
the dirt.

I don't mind "bling" as long as I don't have to pay
for it. Just a little of my 13 year old's nail polish ( she won't
mind I am sure ) and the XTM stands out nicely on the battery
strap eh?

To race and have a chance at the expert level of stock truck you
must have all power your stock motor will make getting to the
tires and then to the track. The stock gearbox has some silicone
type of grease that stops it from spinning freely. I took it apart
because it would not spin, check this small vid ( binding
video 11megs ) It says in the little vid, i suspected dirt,
to the praise of the seal on this gearbox, after driving it in
powder dust and sand for a video shoot, there was NO dirt AT ALL
inside it. Great seal. So I sprayed out the gears, gearbox, and
bearings with motor spray, so it would spin like ( this vid, gearbox
spinning 18.4 megs ). Then after lubing the bearings with
boca bearing lube, very thin stuff from a ceramic bearing manufacturer,
the wheels spin like this. ( free
spinning wheels 8.6 megs )

This is VERY important, you will NOT get a free spinning tranny
unless you follow this next tip. On the three bolts that hold
the motor plate on, use locktight and DO NOT over tighten them.
That pulls on the gear box and binds the gears, defeating all
the work you just did. The lock tight will hold it, just make
them snug so it will spin freely.

This is the Associated Green spring next to the stock X-Cellerator
blue springs. The green is the lightest spring in the Associated
shock spring tuning kit. They make a brown that is even lighter
that is being used on the front of the B4 buggy, but the green
is perfect for truck. As far as I can tell the blue stock X-Cellerator
springs are right in between the green and silver Associated springs,
so for the rear, the blue is perfect. I am going to use the greens
on the front.

This is the stock blue spring, on the shock, with the preload
adjustment stop. As you can see, the stock springs fit right over
the end of it.

The Green spring on same shock, and as you can see, the green
is a little smaller in diamiter so I flipped the preload stops
upside down and they work perfectly. Free movement with no binding
at all.
