I live in Tucson, Arizona. We just had our state championships
and this was my first outing with a STS motor. I got the motor
only four days before the race and I must say the D21T
is the BEST turbo motor I have used to date, tons of
bottom end and it just screams down the straight. It was enough
to give me the win against all the high dollar Italian motors
with more to spare, perfect motor for the truggy class.

I also race electric, and as you can see, did pretty well with
my two wheel and four wheel drive buggys.
RACE UPdate:
Hello gentleman as you know I got the motor on Monday so I
had little time to break it in after work each day but by Thursday
I had it done, our state race was a two day event starting on
Friday and ending on Saturday. Both days were very long, we
got done on Friday at 1 am and on Saturday we got done at 3
am. None the less it was fun and we had a lot of people come
out from all over to race. I ran in three different classes,
stock buggy,4 wd mod and truggy. In Stock buggy there were a
lot of good drivers but I managed to TQ the class as well as
get first place. I almost lost first because of a bad driver
cutting the track and taking people out but I managed to hang
on for the win. In 4 wd mod we had a lot of fun most of the
guys were sponsored by big company's but I did TQ one round
but lost it in the third heat by one lap. As you know 4 wd tend
to break a lot so about half way through the main it came down
to four people out of 12 that were left, It was a close race
between me and a guy named mac Mitchell who is a driver for
kyosho and in the end he beat me by 1/4 track so I had to settle
for second. The truggy class was by far one of the most competitive
classes there second to 1/8 scale, there were 28 entries in
the class and a lot of competition. Again I TQ one round only
to have the same guy(mac Mitchell) take it away. There were
a lot of CRT's out there, a few st-r's and a few lsp's. Me and
my lsp were running consistent laps of 22.6 but mac and his
st-r were a little faster at 21.4, I got ahead of him on his
last pit but he got it back on mine. It all came down to the
last two minutes(as always) with mac making a bobble in a corner
which gave me the lead so I drove it like I stole it and came
away with a win. This was my first chance to race against a
factory driver but I was confident in my truck and my motor
and all the hard work paid off. I was very impressed with the
STS Team .21 motor and had a lot
of people asking about it, I will get you pictures in a day
or two I was just too spent today to do anything. Until next
time,
